Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator's Future In Question
It is an end of an era. There is no longer a team working on Flight Simulator, ESP, or Train Simulator. Microsoft still owns the IP but it seems certain that at this point there will be no more Flight Simulator from Microsoft. http://www.futuregpu.org/2009/01/end-of-era-part-ii-links-and.html" oncli...

Re: is anti aliasing REALLY working????
You should force your AA and AF on using the card settings. That way it won't matter how you set FS really.
Can you post some screenshots with full AA and AF on and off? I'll tell you if I can see a difference.

Re: aircraft touch down shudder
does anyone know of any sound files that enhance the touchdown sound you hear from the cabin. like a shudder and a rattle. thanks Some sound packs will add things like this, but there are so many sounds packs out there you really have to go research them for yourself. We have a lot of sound files a...

Re: Navigation rules, what is required at least in the USA?
Are airline and commericial pilots required to use J or V airways when planning their flight? We don't plan anything....... Dispatch has everything already planned out and filed for us.. we just fly it. The only "planning" we do is when it comes down to discussing best course of action to go around...

It means the runway is closed for some reason or that the...
Re: AFCAD's
You can only assign gates by airline code, there is no way to distinguish between domestic and international.

Re: Making online aircraft "appear"
Haven't flown VATSIM in a long time, but I remember that if you didn't have a model you would see a big green arrow or something like that. If you're not seeing anything then perhaps it is a setting in Squawkbox or something. I would try the VATSIM forums and see if they can help.

Re: Holding PAtterns
AFCADS are facility data for the airport. They have nothing to do with the AI aircraft while they are in the air. You will still see the occasional go-around at busy airports, even if you are using AISMooth. However, this program does a good job at keeping the AI traffic out of my way, which is what...

Re: More Fees for Checked in Bags... This time Down South
I think it's about time that airlines start charging people for carrying all of their crap. Learn to pack lighter! It's amazing what some people will try to take on an airplane, and there is always that one guy that manages to get that huge siutcase in as a "carry-on" and tries to stuff it in an ove...

Re: DVD Ripper
There are quite a few...you need to decrypt the DVD and rip to your hard drive first, then convert to Zune format. Usually you will need 2 separate programs for this. After going through all of this you will likely be disappointed with what you end up with, as I've tried to watch movies on my Zune a...

Re: where are the Brakes?
In fact I would recommend NOT installing the software from CH that comes with the Yoke/Pedals. Windows should recognize the devices without any additional software and FS will pick them up and set default assignments. You might want to tweak these to your liking however... Since I have a registered ...

Re: where are the Brakes?
That's the one thing I really want for FS, a good pair of rudder pedals that also simulate braking correctly. I haven't found any that don't require other addons. (CH requires CH yoke, etc) I have CH yoke and rudder pedals, but they don't require any add-ons. I'm not sure what you mean here? You ca...

Re: Computer suggestions...
I know a lot of people that have FSX running very well. Like I said, you really need the hardware to push it though and FSX, like FS9, is still mainly CPU bound. Enabling the DX10 preview and running FSX SP2 also helps.
