VATSIM Flying

Hey guys, I haven't been active on the board lately, but still continue to fly. Main reason being I am an instructor and the event director for the virtual Atlanta ARTCC on VATSIM. I've discussed this various times with other people in the ARTCC, and they think we should really get the VAs involved ...

Re: were all gunna die!!!!!!!!!!

This week on Mythbusters... "Will we all die on 12/12/12?" LOL J/k My English teacher's dad went as far as buying a plane ticket for him on the 1st of December, 2012 so that they could head to (I think Michigan, he said), or some other place, so they can be in a high altitude, in case there is a flo...

Re: Fuel Saving Flight reduces fuel costs by 4%

Alright, I got the go ahead to post it. http://mitrecaasd.org/vatsim/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Anyways, the basic idea is on there. Descending all the way down to final approach on engines idle. This will defineatly help in reducing fuel consumption. It will be interesting to s...

Re: Fuel Saving Flight reduces fuel costs by 4%

An airspace development and design company called MITRE is actually working on testing CDA (Continuous Descent Approaches/Arrivals). Where basically the descent will be at engines idle the entire time all the way to touchdown. They actually testing another airspace design (but not for CDA) a few mon...

Re: 3rd Time A Charm?

It actually almost happened to me recently on a flight from Seattle to Honolulu. I was half-asleep on my bed, in front of the computer, yet I knew it was time to descend. My mind was telling me to wake up, but my body wanted to stay on the bed. When I finally got up I had overflown Honolulu. I immed...

Re: Bad news for UPS Virtual Air Cargo

Yeah... Unfotunately, the airlines have screwed many VAs over because they don't understand our passion for realism. Then again, the airlines do have their reason, even if they may seen ridiculous. Good luck to your VA and hope you guys make the right decision. And keep in mind, SimAirline.net will ...

Never bothered to look for any. I'll have to do that.

And how did YOU get it fixed on your Sim? Reinstall?

Re: Sudden Stall

Yeah. I was told by someone else on another forum that the aircraft has a glitch and that it happens to them ofter as well.
I actually DID reinstall it before I did this flight, so I don't know what the problem is.

And thanks.

Re: Sudden Stall

Retried the flight today. Storm was basically in the same spot today as it was yesterday. Bad idea to fly over it again, huh? Well, I'm cruising along, about to take a shower, just like I almost did yesterday when it happened. (Boy am I glad I didn't get in the shower.) I see the storm coming up, th...

Sudden Stall

Today, I was flying from Atlanta to Nassau on Delta flight 373, using the MADDOG 2006. I was about to start flying over the ocean, but still a couple of miles over Florida. I was in outside view and speaking to another pilot on VATSIM. I was also using ActiveSky, and there was a storm north of Melbo...

Re: Motion Sickness

My first time on a long distance cruise, a couple of months ago, I got sea sick for a couple of hours. It eventually went away, but I didn't throw up. Just felt like I had to throw up...

Either way, I've been on boats before with no problem, airplanes are fine and so are cars.

Re: how did you come to simairline?

I was looking for a good COPA VA on Google, and it showed SimAirline.net, so, since it had so many airlines to choose from, I joined. It's been a great decision.

Re: Your vacation plans ??

Last day of school is June 5th. Planning on leaving the 11th to Panama (PTY).
Most likely to fly Delta.
(MD88/B738/B752) from FLL or MIA to ATL. *Not sure, still haven't purchased tickets.
(B752) from ATL to PTY.
And the flight back, with probably the same aircrafts.
