In my experience the demo ran a lot faster than the actual product does. I had high hopes after trying the demo only to be let down upon installing the real thing.

Re: Netgear or Linksys
My linksys died a couple months ago (after running 24/7 for about 6 years, so no complaints). I would have bought another linksys if they didn't look like UFO's! Bought a Netgear and have been satisfied so far.

Re: How does AI work
I set my traffic level to around 50% (even lower for FSX), which can help make traffic manageable at large airports.

Thanks Aaron, I always overlook the Excel sheet tabs because they're so small and at the bottom of the window.

Cause for concern, but hardly the apocalypse hyped by the media. Every year tens of thousands die from influenza. Swine flu: 10 so far.

I think you have more to worry about breathing the air (if you can call it that

Re: Issue With Loosing My Airspeed Indications
If you have ActiveSky, you can turn off icing, which is what I've done. It appears to me its a problem with how Microsoft simulates your pitot heat. It seems to ignore the setting until icing occurs, which you then loose your airspeed indicator, et al. Then FS sees your pitot heat is on, so in about ...

Re: Hiding AI Aircarft
There's a batch utility that will let you, for example, make all aircraft in folders named "WoA*" invisible. I forget its name (since you run it once and you usually don't need it again), but a web search should be able to find it.

Re: FSX system builds
My next step is to buy a SSD (Solid State Drive) which I will use exclusively for Vista and FSX (yeah I know, it'll probably cost me an arm and a leg, considering my FSX folder alone weighs in at 88GB lol). I've read that Vista startup times can be cut to as little as 6 seconds. It might be worth ...

Traffic Explorer from the FS9 SDK will let you remove an AI flight. I have no idea if there's a corresponding one for FSX.

Re: Red Bull Air Race TV Series
Versus usually shows them on cable. I think it's a misnomer to call them races ... it's stunt flying against the clock. Reno is real air racing. Why can't they show those on TV?

Re: Need help with our Concorde timetable for AI flight plans
I don't think there was any need for Concorde to cool down between flights. The only requirement I know of was the need to "debow" the engines (shafts) if they were shut down between 1 and 5 hours because the cooling rate wasn't uniform for the entire engine. The technical stops in Bahrain, Dakar ...
