Re: Flying Milestone for me

However I've never been on any frequency where there's never a break in transmission of less than five seconds at a time If you make flying a career choice, you will get to that point one day... There are times even in the lil' jungle jet that we never get to check on with approach... it's so busy ...

Re: Flying Milestone for me

Congrats and welcome to a "big" airport.... How else are you gonna be talking to a Class B controller with a ton of "big dog" airline pilots? For all the GA flyers out there that do want to come to the "airline" airports... please please please please please remember one thing... We travel fast. As ...

Hey Fraser... it is indeed the logo light.. it's on because of how I had all the lights on and in that model they turn on during the day as well... (at least when you lazily hit for all the lights to be on)

America West Express Fokker 70

Alright... so I had some free time and wanted to do a repaint... So, the result was my own original repaint of the Project Fokker F-70 v2 using their paintkit. I did the repaint off the few images I could find of the plane when it was operating under a Mesa Air Group subsidiary in the mid 90's. Comm...

Re: What to do when...

The on the ground part is the least of my worries if I were in your shoes IRL... my first priority is getting on the ground, and something FS doesn't take into account are real life aircraft limitations... on the ERJ max fuel imbalance between sides is only 800 lbs... So, as a pro. pilot... with a f...

Re: Where do you sit?

Almost 99% of the time I have a (well in advanced) reserved seat for me... 0B. generally a good view, but no chance to sleep, never has good window shades, but at least I have the thermostat with 0A's permission.... Getting my drink/food is somewhat complicated, and it's kind of an act of congress t...

Re: Gate changes?

Aside from the original topic but in the same vein... I would expect a lot of gate shuffling in the US over the next year... with the Combo of DL/NW and the realigning of Continental from SkyTeam to Star... As is, Continental's already announced their new gates for O'Hare.

Frontier to add Tulsa... again!

Frontier Airlines today announced they will be returning to Tulsa, Oklahoma. The route is going to be operated by Lynx Aviation with their Q400's. Hopefully this time around it will have better success. Personally, I wouldn't want to sit on a turboprop that long though. http://www.bizjournals.com/de...

Re: Summer aviation internships?

My view is that there are few bad gateways. One shouldn't be too selective when one is entry-level. I used to load bags for Delta, and now I manage the company's fuel efficiency. Was I too good to load bags? No, I paid my dues to enter the pool, and it was one of the most enjoyable (and tiring) job...

Ah yes... glorious Gulfstream International... the only airline to operate 20 passenger Beech 1900's.... Do your career a favor... Don't apply to anything they have available.... (along with GoJet). Chris, just a reminder: 90% of aviation is on the ground. Nothing is wrong with working on the airpo...

SJU, perhaps? MCO at the very most. It's possible that Gulfstream International Airlines has options, although I wouldn't be surprised if they have 'MFN' status for Embry-Riddle and Florida Tech. Ah yes... glorious Gulfstream International... the only airline to operate 20 passenger Beech 1900's......

What an interesting thing... kind of strikes me that nowhere really provides diagrams other than the charts all of us pilots actually carry... Granted our Jepp's are provided by the company and only cover our destinations and alternates in the ops specs for the airline...

Somethings seems to me to be a little odd about the paint... but I can't put my finger on it. Continental's blue is not this dark and their aircraft are not this dirty. The blue looks actually vary close to me and compared to my personal photos.... it only looks bright and vibrant in direct intense...

Re: Cockpit takeoff video

In the US to sit on my jumpseat you have to be CASS approved crewmember, a company check airman, a FAA inspector, one of my own company's mechanics or dispatchers, or certain other individuals with access granted by their status at certain government agencies... So, for all the rest of you in the US...

You know... I have a slightly different view on this... It was not easy.. but nothing about life is really easy. If you truly want ...
