Re: Just One for Now

Yes it does look a lot lower. It may just be that the plane came down heavy on its left main gear, but the angle does look quite sharp if that is the case.

Re: Volcano vs. European Airspace, Round 2

It is not as bad as last time, due to the fact that the coverage is less and also at a lower altitude. Most planes will be able to simply fly straight over it.

Re: United/Continental merger

Yeah, I think the United logo in the style of Continental livery looks a little too plain. I think the font worked for Continental because the name was quite long, but for a name as short as 'United', the font looks a little too Microsoft Wordy.

Re: The Dawn of a New Day

It definitely is a sad day, but with all the nice words that people are saying about their time with SimAirline.net, it's humbling to see how people have grown in the past few years and matured. I know when I started back in 2007, I had very limited knowledge of aircraft and all the procedures, so I...

Re: What aircraft and what airports have you been to ?

Just to let you know, this topic is about real life flights and not SimAirline.net. However, you have posted some impressive stats. I wonder if you can break the 100 mark with Delta before the end of the day...

Re: Real environment!!!

Umm.. I can't say I've ever used DDR1 memory before, but isn't the point of DDR2 to have two identical chipsets and run them in dual channel, the same way that for DDR3 you'd get three sticks of RAM. I would assume that running 2 sticks of DDR1 would be like running 4 sticks of DDR2. I don't know if...

Re: Real environment!!!

I'm running a dual core at 4GHz and 4GB RAM, and I can't tell a difference when up at cruising altitude or on the ground. The only time when the framerates drop from where they are capped is when I fly directly through the clouds, although that only happens twice on a single flight for a few minutes...

Re: Last flights for simairline

Prepping for my final SimAirline.net flight. Paris to Coventry BA RJ100. Funny that Coventry is my home airport, yet the only time I've flown to / from it has been my very first flight. So when I return back to Coventry the last three years will seem like one giant journey acorss the world.

Re: NOTAM Regarding Icelandic Volcanic Activity

There is meant to be another cloud from an eruption earlier today come over the UK. This morning when I woke up I has a very fine layer of what looked like dirt on my car. It's been recently washed and hasn't rained all week, so I can only assume it is volcanic ash. It's very weird seeing the sky wi...

Re: NOTAM Regarding Icelandic Volcanic Activity

Looks as though things might clear up in the coming days. Some test flights have been conducted and they say that the airspace should reopen. The Royal Navy is getting involved now, shipping stranded Britons back to the UK.

Re: NOTAM Regarding Icelandic Volcanic Activity

This is getting pretty bad, and the volcano hasn't stopped erupting. Apparantly last time it erupted, some 200 years ago, it lasted for 2 years.

Re: NOTAM Regarding Icelandic Volcanic Activity

Scary stuff! I was actually on that exact glacier when I visited Iceland 2 months ago, and the tour guide said that the nearby volcano was due to erupt any time now. He was right!
