Re: What OS is everyone running these days?
Now using XP for Flightsim, I've uninstalled everything else off that drive, leaving a dedicated drive just to FS9. I took a spare and put Windows 7 x64 on it for other games like Need for Speed, Call of Duty, etc and for work purposes. Laptop was also converted up to Windows 7 because I need it at ...

I'm with Josh, it's nice to share some of the fantastic plans we've had hidden for years.
If I get the chance, I need to write something about the Historic Northwest plan, that was great.

Re: First HA A332
I'm with you two, it breaks my heart to see and fly Delta. It will always be Northwest to me.
I am actually excited to see the Hawaiian A330s, I find them a much more beautiful airplane than the 767 and it should look amazing once it gets fully lei-ed.

Of course it's during school. Typical!
Very glad to see another 747 gracing the skies. The true Queen.

Re: Decisions, decisions
I'm not into the whole mini-notebook or tablet or PDA type devices, I want to be able to do EVERYTHING on whatever it is that I'm using, I have enough devices as is, so I will probably remain a full laptop user for the foreseeable future.

Re: Decisions, decisions
iPad?!?! You kidding Nick? You can't be that obsessed with Apple that you think they made the right move with product, even down to the name. Definitely with you on the name, it's BARF. The product is pretty neat, but I don't have a use for one with a 17" MacBook Pro and the iPhone 3G. I am...

Re: What OS is everyone running these days?
Update: I take that never using 7 remark back, I'm having to install 7 Ultimate x64 on 4th drive in my Mac Pro. Unfortunately the University's timesheet software only runs in Java on Windows. After spending hours (should've been doing homework) attempting to get it to work on OSX, I have g...

Re: What OS is everyone running these days?
At work: We've been using 7 on some of the machines and so far the only good thing I can report is that it's shiny. It seems about the same speed as the same machine running XP, (on Core i5s 64 bit 7 v. 32 bit XP) and we (programers/technical people) are hating it's lack of backward compatibility w...

Re: A personal note - New beginnings
I've heard from a physics side of it, X-Plane is much more realistic. Doesn't it calculate movement based on almost a simulated wind tunnel type of thing, where FS just does things based on charts? Right, it's a much more advanced platform and FAR more open to doing things like running it on multip...

What OS is everyone running these days?
With the launch of Windows 7 now behind us, Vista a few years back and XP seemingly fading into the distance, I thought it would be interesting to see what the statistics look like right now. At home: With the exception of my FS machine and a spare HD running XP on my Mac for things like COD5/6 and ...

Re: A personal note - New beginnings
Just a little idea of what I actually get to do... I, along with three other people, turned a full 737-800 simulator (Level-D minus the motion platform which we don't need) into a Blackhawk demonstrator for the U.S. Military's training research center this week, which runs on... I think we have 9? m...

Not sure it counts but I flew a Blackhawk in a full level sim that we built at work today.... around O'Hare. That was cool!

Re: A personal note - New beginnings
So it's not enough that you have an Audi for your graduation, but now a new car? 8) If only I had gotten that final number on the lottery, I would have a $7.5 million ticket on my hands...one off, just $1,000. Ah, but there's always an upgrade! Dude, I'd so take a $1,000! Lucky! Course the 7 mil wo...

Re: A personal note - New beginnings
Thanks! As Dennis said, this is in addition to classes, so that's a 36 hour work week, though with my schedule it's more like 45-50. I will be exhausted! But it's going to be fun! And I'll definitely enjoy playing with new toys both at work and at home with the money coming in. (paying off debt for ...

Re: A personal note - New beginnings
Thanks everyone! It's going to be a blast.
I don't think I'm getting credit hours but the pay more than makes up for that!
On top of taking 16-17 credit hours in classes, I don't really need them anyway.
