Re: UA orders 50 aircraft, 100 purchase rights

Do military re-engining programs count? Most (if not all) KC-135's have been re-engined, as well as pretty much all of the Cobra Ball, Rivet Joint, etc models. The C-5 RERP (Reliability Enhancement and Re-engine Program) began in 2005. KC-135 = 707. And we are talking about airliner airframes anywa...

Re: UA orders 50 aircraft, 100 purchase rights

And I don't know why airlines are so interested in getting rid of these models. They're only 14 going on 15 years old (assuming that you don't have the prototype like CX), and perfectly good airplanes. Yes fuel efficiency is a factor, but wouldn't a re-engine do the trick to a certain extent? Pleas...

As the Timetable page notes, the timetable has not been updated in some time. I will be doing so in the next week or so, longer than previously anticipated.

Re: Private airport vs public airport?

To add further, I believe that an additional reason for avoiding airport privatization in the U.S. is its antitrust policy, which prevents monopoly situations from occurring. I once worked for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, which, although privately run, is overseen by a government-...

Re: Private airport vs public airport?

The primary reason for airport privatization is to unlock the accumulated value created by the airport and to allow market forces, rather than inefficient governments, to work unhindered in airport management. The general consensus is that airport privatization is positive. -Governments: the sale fr...

Re: Alliance battles

CM really has no one to codeshare with there. Taca has already applied there. Adding CM would make things complicated but interesting. An alliance is an union between airlines. If those airlines compete on the same routes and are literally enemies and don't complement each other's networks, then th...

Re: NW/DL Flights for Bemidji

If you are careful, you can get the necessary flight information from Delta's PDF timetable. Just double and triple check everything to make sure you are looking at the correct flight (flights operate on certain days of the week, and the schedules will be changing slightly in December, it looks lik...

No, they will not be. You can though download past versions though by changing the address to a prior version, e.g., 1.1.0.

Exactly correct. The flight is currently marketed today as NW799, but Delta codeshares on the flight as DL799. Flight numbers are aligning right now until the NW code disappears at the end of January.
