Re: Where are You on your Logbook

I was finally able to get to Sydney and complete ACA033. Whew, that's a really long flight.

Re: Real environment!!!

My computer is running a 2.0 processor, so it isn't the fastest in the world. But my framerate DROPS majorly when I have clouds and all that stuff. So it really depends on how fast of a processor you have or if you are willing to lose frames for beauty. I have a quad-core 2.40 processor and 3 Gigs ...

Re: Last flights for simairline

I am going to try again on Monday and Thursday to get ACA033 completed. If I am successful, that will most likely be my final SimAirline flight. If I am unsuccessful, then it looks like the last PIREP I filed will have been my last flight. :(

Re: SriLankan A340-300 no panel

Once you run the install executable, you should be able to edit the panel to anything you want. Simplest thing to do would be to backup the installed panel files and create a new panel.cfg file to alias to the default 744 panel. Before you do that though, take a look at the panel.cfg file that was i...

Re: Real environment!!!

How much of an affect, if any, did REX have on your framerates? I am considering getting it for FSX and using the visuals with the ASE weather engine.

Re: Where are You on your Logbook

Yesterday I made another attempt at ACA033. Unfortunately, as I was turning onto final approach at Sydney after 15 hours of flying, FSX hit a fatal error. :rmad:

Re: NOTAM Regarding Icelandic Volcanic Activity

Airbus has conducted a couple test flights using an A380 and A340-600. They have indicated that they will conduct a thorough inspection of both aircraft and all engines and provide their findings to the appropriate authorities. Some European airports have also reopened , despite additional eruptions...

Re: Need some Help!!

This may seem like an obvious question, but have you tried pressing E, then 1 & 2 quickly? If that doesn't help, I'm not sure what would. :(

Re: Where are You on your Logbook

I was attempting to fly ACA033 from Vancouver to Sydney, but after more than 12 hours of flying, and with less than three hours to go, FSX stopped responding. Occasionally it will sort itself out after a few minutes and continue, but I waited half an hour and no such luck. *sigh*

Re: NOTAM Regarding Icelandic Volcanic Activity

There are a few problems with the test flights. They were conducted by airlines, and not the regulatory authorities. They did not go up to the altitudes where the ash was actually present. And the engines on the aircraft used for the test flights were not completely torn down and inspected afterward...

Another acquaintance provided this link. It's from an Italian newspaper, but it has an animated graphic showing the distribution of the ash cloud April 14th through its predicted coverage on the 20th. http://www.corriere.it/Primo_Piano/Cronache/2010/04/17/pop_nube.shtml *Edit* On a side note, when F...

Re: NOTAM Regarding Icelandic Volcanic Activity

Airlines are not Europe's only source of income, that is true. Unfortunately the economy around the world is intricately tied into the airline and air cargo services, so if air travel is cut off for an extended period of time pretty much every industry will eventually start to feel the pinch. I can ...

Re: NOTAM Regarding Icelandic Volcanic Activity

I think the politicians are smart enough to realize that they can't do anything about the volcano or the ash cloud, and if they even hint at a bail out program for the airlines, their ratings will drop into a bottomless pit.

I've only been on one cruise with Norwegian, so I don't really have a basis for comparison. However, my sister has a friend who works with Disney cruises, so one of these days I may see if I can get a discount.

Republic brings Midwest under the Frontier brand

Good to know that Frontier's signature tails will not disappear, but this may be something of a disappointment for fans of Midwest.
