Re: Some Recent Flights

Very nice shots. The nav light effect in some of the images is a little odd, though.

Re: Enhancing editing a little more

That is the bane of the photographer's existence. You take hundreds of pictures, and end up with a couple dozen ones worth keeping.

Re: Where do you plan on going after closing?

While technically not a VA, I have been a member of the Virtual Pilots Association (VPA) for the past three years. VPA is an organization whose members strive to make their virtual flying as realistic as possible. There are no restrictions on what you fly (other than that it be a real aircraft), or ...

Re: Windows Vista -> Windows 7

There are only a few programs that I use on a regular basis, but the biggest thing holding me back is having to reinstall and retweak FSX and all of the addons I have for it.

Re: Windows Vista -> Windows 7

That brings up another question. Is the 64bit version of 7 worth the trouble of the more involved installation process, or should I stick with the 32bit version?

Or, once I have the 32bit version of 7 up and running, will the 7 Anytime Upgrade capability then allow me to switch to the 64bit version?

Gotcha. But going from Vista Home Premium to 7 Home Premium would involve the simplified process I described?

Windows Vista -> Windows 7

So I was told today that when upgrading to Windows 7 from Vista, the 7 OS installs on top of Vista and all files and programs remain in place. The only thing that changes is the OS itself. Has anyone here done this upgrade? If so, how did it go? I was considering getting a new monitor, but if upgrad...

Re: Continental 2960

Details, my friend. Details. I (usually) notice unusual control surface configurations right away. The ERJ is a slippery little aircraft, and you need to be prepared to start slowing down as early as possible. It is very difficult to slow it down during descent, so it helps to get down early to leve...

Re: Continental 2960

Some nice clouds there. Quick question, though. Was that a no-flap approach with spoilers extended, or just a quirky thing done with the FS replay?

WTO issues final ruling on Airbus subsidy case

It will still be a while before the ruling is released to the public, but both Boeing and Airbus are claiming victory.

Re: Health care...

Matthew, just out of curiosity, where in the bill does it say that it will mess up your parents' existing health insurance? I think the most important benefit of the bill is that it will prevent insurance companies from denying/dropping coverage of individuals who are already sick with a major illne...

Re: Health care...

Unfortunately I am one of those Americans that the insurance companies consider "uninsurable" due to pre-existing conditions (skin cancer, which has been completely removed, and an on-again-off-again back problem). I think this health care bill is a good first step, but it is certainly not a solutio...

Re: Interesting Routings?

You can export a route from SimRoutes to put into FS9 or FSX, though with FSX you can put any waypoint you want into a route using the default flight planner if you know the coordinates for the waypoint.

Glasgow is part of the UK, so they should "technically" be known as Britons. "Glaswegians" is more of a demonym than a nationality.

Re: mylius font needed urgently

Specially designed, exclusive fonts are usually very difficult to get a hold of. If you need it for a repaint scheme or any kind of graphic, it may be easiest to find a nice clean photograph that you can crop a copy of the titles. If you need the font for actual text writing purposes, make sure you ...

Re: New Active Sky release

Well, I can say one thing is really nice about ASE: Thunderstorms at night. Just flew into Melbourne, Australia at night with thunderstorms in the vicinity of the airport, and the light show was fantastic. I'm not sure how much of it was stock FSX lightning, and how much was ASE, but it looked great.
