Just finished LAX-SEA in the 737-900. Pretty fun route, if you ask me.

Three Girls and Navy Pilot Die In Tragic Accident Near Reno

This is really too bad. :( My prayers are with their loved ones. Was probably windshear that caused this crash. Any other reasons why this could have happened? RENO, Nev. -- Federal investigators said they haven't ruled out anything as the cause of a small plane crash in northern Nevada that killed ...

757s
well, I'm gonna miss them. We have an old UPS base here at FAT, and it's always nice to see the 757 make a powerful t/o from 29R.

Yeah, i figured that would happen soon. They are so freaking loud even with those hush kits on. Then what is UPS going to use instead of DC8's for that route?

Re: British Airways Plans Start Heathrow-Las Vegas

Wait for the summer months, it might pick up. BA usually start their new routes with something smaller then increase fleet size as required. Smart business if you ask me. BA's a smart company. there's almost never an article about them telling about how they are going broke and laying off pilots li...

Re: Delta/Northwest Merger Official

In US airlines that might be true, if you only count the legacy carriers. ABX, DHL, AmeriJet, FedEx, UPS, USA Jet and others still have some extremely old 727s and DC8, DC9s flying around. USA Jet likely has the oldest aircraft in the US not including some of the remote Alaskan airlines still flyin...

Re: My Best landing Ever

Just want to add that I agree with Tim. It is an official FAA rule that the displaced threshold cannot be used for a touchdown. It can, however, be used for taxiing, takeoff roll, and even landing roll. I won't restate all the facts that Tim used, but suffice to say they are all correct. I'll dig f...

Re: Delta/Northwest Merger Official

Probably not the oldest in the world in terms of passenger fleets but those DC9-30s are really getting up there. 8921E is now over 42 years old. They likely have some of the oldest in the world but for example African airlines still have some very early 727s and 737-200s that would have them beat. ...

I meant in Flight Sim. I'v practiced IFR flights with the weather turned to 1/8 mile visibility in fog, and practiced approaches on those airframes.

What does everbody think about the FSX PMDG MD-11?

As I come up on breaking the 600 hour mark on my copy of FSX, I thought I should get a new, pay ware aircraft. I looked long and hard and I've come down to one aircraft. The PMDG MD-11 for FSX. Does anybody have any reviews on this aircraft? I just want to get a little more backround information bef...

Re: Delta/Northwest Merger Official

Delta will be keeping the DC9-50s for the foreseeable future because they are STILL profitable in comparison to the A319/MD80 on shorter routes and will play a vital role in Delta's network for some time to come. As long as fuel is cheap the -30s and -40s will also be remaining in service though sl...

Does Horizon still offer service? That's what we usually do when we go (it's been some time since I've been, though...Maybe two years or so). I usually fly PANC--KSEA--KFAT. Oh yeah, I forgot about them. Usually they'll fly CR7's into SEA, and some times PDX, but a couple of months back FlightAware...

Welcome, Jacob! See your home airport is KFAT...I fly in there when I go to California, most of my family lives in the valley so that's the closest airport to them. Enjoy your time here at SA! Yeah, KFAT's a deteriorating airport, there's now too many gates because of the reduced flights to here. A...

Oh, ok I thought it was a 31. The 41 is plenty big. That'll work well.
