Re: First HA A332

Change can be a good thing.... No one ever said it wasn't, but then again, change is never that easy. Once you're used to something, it can be quite difficult trying to change that. Of course, some people have more difficulty trying to adapt than others. It's like when DL introduced its current liv...

Ack...missed it., Whatever. I'm sure that won't be the last Boeing jet to have a first flight.

And no, DVR's fall under the definition of handheld, devices not allowed during class.

Re: First HA A332

Actually, I find that the HA livery will go well with the A330. It'll be nice to see how it ends up.

Re: 747-8 First Flight

That's the point. I can't. Not that I don't want to, simply a class rule. It's with the Do-as-I-say-or-else-get-out kind of professor. He doesn't want us with laptops. :| Skip the class? Sure, until my assistance grade drops like a rock (already have one absence and justified, but does he care? NO.....

Re: Decisions, decisions

I'd go with the laptop. You can listen to music and surf the web (iTouch) and useful for school work. But do be careful as to which laptop you choose.

Re: What OS is everyone running these days?

Still running XP on my laptop and Vista on my desktop. I WAS hoping to jump to 7 on either system but: 1. My laptop will not handle 7 as well as I might expect (more on the graphics side). 2. A friend of mine told me that some of the programs both of us have made 7 crash. Can't have that while progr...

It's very interesting to see what SimAirline.net was like before I arrived and with more details than the "About us" section.

Would love to have a new SLR but our D80 will have to do for now.

Finally got the Northwest glasses I've always wanted: http://and1.dnsalias.com:666/Temp/Room/IMG_1746.jpg
Whoa! NICE ones! Too bad I was never a big NW fan or I would've done something like that.

Resolution? Nice. Environment details? Cool. The textures just kill the shots. :?

Re: Non-working internet connection

I have had that happen to me numerous times. What I do is:
1. Click repair on the connection
2. If that fails, reset the modem/wireless router.

If all else fails, a restart will do it.

So it's not enough that you have an Audi for your graduation, but now a new car? 8)

If only I had gotten that final number on the lottery, I would have a $7.5 million ticket on my hands...one off, just $1,000.

Consider it almost a combination too. Unless you are receiving federal aid or are required to assist because assistance is graded, you're free to come when you please. And like you said, not going means your chances of passing are very slim. In terms of what the credits do, you are given tests (just...

Re: A personal note - New beginnings

When you work towards a bachelor's degree, each course you take has an equivalent of credit hours (ie. the hours per week you came in contact with the course). For instance, my bachelor's degree has a total of 165 credits. Some courses I take have an equivalent of 3 credit hours. That means, every w...

Hahahaha. I think that's a first for the boards, isn't it?

Congratulations Nick. I'm kinda in the same situation you're in, only I'm doing a research for Verizon. Let's hope it all goes well (I'm claiming 3 credit hours for it so I better have good results.)

Re: TG 7663 Bangkok to Frankfurt

What I would've done is slew the aircraft to landing position (about some 200 ft of altitude), proceed with landing, and just before touchdown, paused the simulator. That way, the wings will have their flex and no one will have known. :winking:

Carlo wrote:Oh dear, what's up with the lack of wingflex? The wings are actually drooping down :?
The answer to that is in the second shot. Notice how it says slew :P . Whenever an aircraft is in slew mode, it's wings return to normal position, regardless of the movement.

Still pretty good shots though.

Re: Chasing the Sun

If you have the Star Alliance screensaver, the you'd know why it happened. In Iceland, apparently the sun sets at 1700, but as you fly westbound (with some southward motion), the gap between night and day gets wider. I think what you may have done is flown along the twilight zone (no, not the myster...
