Re: The Dawn of a New Day
Well, we still have each other through Facebook, so for me it's just one less place available to chat. Even so, I'll really miss everyone. Like I said in my farewell entry, SimAirline.net was like a second family for me. So here's to the final hours of SimAirline.net! It has been a privilege being p...

Re: How to make an aircraft handle better on the ground
Some airplanes react to the amount of fuel they have onboard. Make sure you are carrying the necessary amount. Abacus's A380 reacts to that. When fully loaded, it becomes very tough to handle; when lighter, it's a cinch.

Re: Looks like a great summer
Well...it LOOKED like a great summer. Unfortunately, the hopes of this internship becoming a reality are very slim. All eleven campuses of the state university are on strike (with over 7 having a prolonged strike until some things are sorted out). My campus will shortly join the prolonged strike one...

On a side note, seems I won't be able to fly after all. Got a test tomorrow afternoon. Would've been nice to have joined you all though.

Re: Looks like a great summer
Considering that meteorology is not my bachelor's degree, but what I aim to make my graduate studies in, I can say that this experience will definitely help me. Let's see how Memphis will treat me...

Looks like a great summer
Guys, I can't believe it but it's happened. I've been picked for a meteorology internship in Memphis. I'm still not sure if I should accept, but with our college on the verge of a prolonged strike, I think I'd rather get out of the chaos and do something worthwhile. So, if I accept, you're more than...

Re: Last flights for simairline
Shame I'm too busy to actually fly. I can't guarantee that I will fly, but I'll bring my joystick and hard drives along just in case. That final flight will have me in SJU. Here's to the last week of active operations at SimAirline.net http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e311/ma2t10/Smileys/beer-drunk...

Re: Top 5 Cruise Lines
Ocean view cabins on Adventure of the Seas go from $500+. When you travel with your family and you are still underage, you HAVE to go with that they say and if THEY want an interior cabin, then interior cabin it is. However, the first time I went on a cruise we were in an ocean view cabin.

Re: NOTAM Regarding Icelandic Volcanic Activity
This should be a wake up call to us for depending so much on one thing. It's ash and it's disrupting air travel, which can disrupt business, which can collapse economies, and so on. So, although unrelated, this could be a future scenario for when: 1. Oil goes over $100 again 2. Oil is nearly gone co...

Re: NOTAM Regarding Icelandic Volcanic Activity
Airlines aren't the only source of income for Europe, you know. This could be an opportunity for some airlines to shift their operations to another airport. As far as I know, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and (partly) France still have flights operating. These countries' airlines could take advant...

Re: Top 5 Cruise Lines
I would recommend Alaska, but why take a cruise right where you live? Caribbean cruises are always fun. I've wanted to go either on an Alaskan cruise or an European cruise. I've taken the same route on Adventure of the Seas: Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten, St. Thomas. Seven day cruise for $300-$500...I...

Re: Top 5 Cruise Lines
I think that since I'm in my early 20s, Disney's cruises don't attract me enough to consider them. However, that last statement is true. Adventure of the Seas carries nearly 3,300 passengers and crew, IIRC. You often wonder where they are. The ship is so big and has so many things to do, people are ...

Re: Top 5 Cruise Lines
I have only traveled aboard RC's Adventure of the Seas 3 times. I'll take RC over Carnival any day, despite Carnival's low prices. I remember I had brochures about Crystal Cruises, there's a reason they're first and I can say that they deserve it. Disney...meh, by magic Mickey can be at Paris, Tokyo...

Re: Polish President Killed In Plane Crash
Whether they wanted to replace the plane or not, that's not my point. It's how the blame is being put on the age and manufacturer of the aircraft.

Re: Polish President Killed In Plane Crash
On a side note, I've noticed some people giving negative publicity to the plane, where many wonder why the Polish Air Force didn't buy newer aircraft for their heads of state/government. I have this to say: 1. When landing on hazardous conditions and going against tower directions, I find that a pla...
