Re: Polish President Killed In Plane Crash
Wow...I woke up and my TV channel was on BBC World news. That was the first headline that came. At first I thought it was an IL-62. Thanks for clearing it up.

US/UA at it again
Merger
Yep, US and UA are at it again, discussing merger. There are two things I see here:
1. UA is trying to pull CO into a merger (it better be careful and not make CO move to oneworld to partner with AA)
2. UA really believes a UA/US merger could work.
Will this time be the one?

Re: Where do you plan on going after closing?
Just out of curiosity, is anyone familiar with the Flying Tigers Group? Ask one of our more senior management members (or anyone who's been here for a LONG time) and you'll get loads of stories... I was actually a member with them for a VERY short time. Unfortunately, their system isn't really what...

Such a shame the contests are over. These would've been nice in the galleries.

Re: Where do you plan on going after closing?
For the moment, I have no plans to join a VA, at least right now. What I plan on doing is try to load up on historic timetables (if I get to go to the Airliners International Convention in New York) and fly free lance. Eventually I may join a VA, if college work is somewhat reduced. Also, I'd like t...

Re: 787 Testing Delayed Due to Break System Issues
It's going to take them 4-6 months to get a new microwave? It kinda reminds me of the joke (IDK if it's real, it's something I was told in high school) about the Space Race. The US invested thousands of dollars to create a pen that could be able to write in space...the Soviets used a pencil. EDIT: ...

Re: Windows Vista -> Windows 7
It depends on the level of Vista and 7. I haven't been able to do the upgrade because I have Vista Home Premium and our campus offers Windows 7 professional. I'd have to do a clean install (erase my computer's OS and install it from scratch)...not worth the hassle in my opinion. The same applies in ...

Re: Hawaiian A330-243
Plus the CRJs capacity doesn't match that of a 717. I'm just saying that since they have ordered A330s and A350s, I wouldn't be surprised to see them replace their 717s with A318/A319s. About the Q400, correct me if I'm wrong, but Hawaiian island hopping is one of the worst things for any airplane (...

Not bad, but not too crazy about it either. What's next? An A318/A319 fleet for domestic flights...?

This is only the first part. There's still the case Airbus sent to the WTO regarding similar subsidies with Boeing.

Re: Test Your Signature Banner Here
Like at the end of western films when you see them ride off into the sunset. I was looking for something like that: a sunset landing shot. Many sunset shots are silhouettes or of other airlines or simply not close enough to the runway. I had considered Andrew Capewell's shot of a NW jet landing int...

You can tone it down a bit:
The F word, which I saw in your post, can be substituted by "screw".Swear words are occasionally acceptable, depending on the context. Gratuitous and repeated use is not permitted.

Health care...
Let's try to enliven the boards up with our remaining members. Fair warning: this is to debate, not criticize each other. You know the drill :winking: So since Obama took office, one of his most important priorities is to overhaul and reform the health care system that the US currently has. Some Ame...
