The Boards will remain open until at least the end of August. As to whether they will remain active, that is up to individuals like yourself.

Great shame as I have only just rejoined. All the best for the future. I will now sign off and start hunting for a new home.

I have to say, it was pretty sad for me when I first saw the announcement yesterday. This was my first VA, and though I've been busy keeping up with school, I've made an attempt lately of flying the rare chance I get. To Aaron and all of the rest of the management: I'd like to thank you guys for helping me get more out of FS and helping me learn a lot about aviation in general. While there will be other VAs in the future for me, this is where it started. Even though I never became one of the more prominent members here, SimAirline won't be forgotten by me.

I’ll agree with the other commenters on the fact that this is a surprise  and I do appreciate the ability to be able to log flight time with SimAirline® during my tenure here.
I also want to say that I appreciate all the time that everyone spent to make this place possible for all the SimPilots. I’ve learned a great deal about airline flight operations and, more specifically, the now defunct Midway Airlines.
I understand your reasons for moving on and, like all the other posters, wish the entire SimAirline® staff nothing but the best. It’s been an aviation pleasure.

Very sad news, but I understand where you're coming from.
Just want to put something forward - could individual airlines become seperate, if people volunteered to take over? For instance, we have the only Swissair virtual - it would be a real shame to see that go. Would you let it become independant and stay open if we had a few volunteers to run it? If enough people agree, I'll help - however I fear this may be a "too little too late" scenario again.

Unfortunately, no. Aaron has said that he does not want to give ownership of any of the VAs to someone else, even anybody in the management team.
Can someone else can be found to manage SimAirline.net? There is no clear succession plan today, nor do I think we can devise one that will ensure the same quality and longevity. I also don't think it's appropriate to sell the organization or hand it off to someone outside that doesn’t have a full understanding of all the good work we have done.

I am travelling to India for six months and will not return before Simairline has ceased operations. It has been a pleasure being part of this group for the many years and how well this Virtual Airline/s have done. Many have come and gone but Simairline has managed to stand it's ground. It wil definately be hard to find another that will be as universal and easy to be a member of. I hope someone will bring back this concept if only in a smaller scale. May I end with everyone having a safe and happy Holiday season. :)

Due to health problems, and running my own business,i'm resigning from SimAirline.net.Plus,i'm currently flying for 4 VA's,and i am settling on just one....

Last month,i had a re-occurence of Cellulitis, that almost took my life again...
(no more wearing shorts in the real world)

I liked flying for this VA,and all the planes i've downloaded...

I wish you guys well...If anyone wants to write me,you can doo so at:
