They don't fly the IL-86's anymore. They are ordering more IL-96's for lon-haul routes in Asia.
they still fly both, albeit the IL-86's are only used on charter runs..especialy the Moscow-Sochi run in the summer. they are getting old tough, they are even older then Aeroflot's TU-154M's..so i don't think they have much time left unfortunately
for anyone interested, Aeroflot operates:
Tupolev TU-134 (both A and B models)
Tupolev TU-154M (workhorse for domestic routes)
Airbus A-319/320/321 (not too sure about the -321 tough)
they also lease some Russian equipment from time to time, including TU-154's and even IL-62M's when their IL-96 fleet had to be grounded due to braking problems last summer
. Just one question, aren't the IL-86's going to be retired soon ? I heard that Aeroflot were going to phase their IL-86's but are going to keep the IL-96's.
