they still fly both, albeit the IL-86's are only used on charter runs..especialy the Moscow-Sochi run in the summer. they are getting old tough, they are even older then Aeroflot's TU-154M's..so i don't think they have much time left unfortunately :(

for anyone interested, Aeroflot operates:

Tupolev TU-134 (both A and B models)
Tupolev TU-154M (workhorse for domestic routes)
Ilyushin IL-86
Ilyushin IL-96-300
Airbus A-319/320/321 (not too sure about the -321 tough)
Boeing 767-300ER
McDonnel-Douglas DC-10-40F

they also lease some Russian equipment from time to time, including TU-154's and even IL-62M's when their IL-96 fleet had to be grounded due to braking problems last summer


Oh :oops: , thanks for the very good info :) . Just one question, aren't the IL-86's going to be retired soon ? I heard that Aeroflot were going to phase their IL-86's but are going to keep the IL-96's.

Hong Kong would open first (because we met the goals from that month), and then we'll get Aeroflot once we meet the goals for this month. There are two required VA manager positions that need to be filled first, and if someone is willing, we also have British Airways Manager position open [not required, but would be nice if we filled it].

So, take a look at it and apply! :)

they probably will be gone soon, the problem is that they have nothing to replace them with, as they need the capacity when the need arrives, so yeas they plan to retire them soon..but I only believe it when I see it. they wanted to retire their TU-134's in 2006..yet they are still going strong.

Yaroslav, Thanks for the info, I wasn't too sure on the A-321's :)

Tyler, I was in charge of the L-1011 program of Delta Virtual Airlines for 1 and a half year, could you please point me to the job description, I would be interested for the Aeroflot position, thanks :)

I heard about Aeroflot's 767's, but just how many do they have?
What routes to they operate on, do you know?
Can't wait to fly a 767 with Aeroflot, also looking forward to the IL-96-300 !

Samuel, I don't know how many 767's Aeroflot operates, I believe around 10 but it could be more, I doesn't really matter from my point of view tough as I only care about their Russian birds :) the Aeroflot 767's are used on N American routes from UUEE as well as the flight to Vladivostok and some Asian destinations

And even if it was possible to add another airline it wouldn't be easyJet for sure because they don't want to have a VA. I've already tried to get their permission to set up an easyJet VA in the past.
