Checklists

Post by frogdude4993 » 08 Aug 2009, 18:41

I recently found a great link to help me create and obtain usable checklists for FS that many of you could find helpful.

http://freechecklists.net/simchecklists.asp

I usually use those checklists as a guide and copy my own into a Word document, I usually add a few things.

This might be a useful link to put in the Pilot Manual list of links. :D

Thanks Decker. I was waiting to see if others would reply and give their thumbs up or not, but it looks good to me. I'll add it to the Pilot Manual.

I don't see myself using these too often, maybe if I'm flying a type that I'm unfamiliar with, but most of my procedures are in my head.
They don't even have all the types (i.e. only have the 767-400, not -200 and -300).

Thanks.

I would recommend copying and pasting them into a word document. That way you can:

1. Format them they way you like (easiest for you to follow).
2. Edit. Checklists are somewhat customizable with obvious exceptions like v-speeds and certain procedures. (For example the 747 checklist suggest you should accelerate to cruise once you pass FL180, I prefer accelerating to 300KIAS until I reach cruise altitude and then accelerate for cruise. That way if I change my altitude for whatever reason, I don't have to reset my cruise speed. etc.)
3. Easily print.

And Sam I agree with you. Most of the procedures are in my head. However I just like the added proficiency. I'm tired of landing at an airport and finding my strobe lights off because I forgot at takeoff.
