Delta A310

Great to hear as I have been looking for a good A310 flight to do!

Looking at the Discontinued Flights table, it looks like the flight is actually Kennedy - Lyon, not Kennedy - Lisbon.

Wow ! I never knew Delta operated the A310. I guess it was post-L1011 era ?

Nope, at the same time. A310s were operated from 1991-1995; L-1011s from 1973-2001.

Good news for SimAirline.net. The A310 has slowly grown on me, so it's good to fly it with one of our airlines.

It was post Pan Am. They were picked up from Pan Am around that time. From what people say Delta actually liked them, but didn't really have much use for them. Personally I was pretty surprised AA didn't pick up any of those to complement the A300s on the Caribbean routes. That would free up some 757s to do other things, like kill some MD-80s!

It should be Lisbon. I must have edited the wrong row. Thank you for the catch, and for linking to the article.

They were picked up when Delta bought Pan Am's trans-atlantic network, the A310s came with the deal.
I'll probably squeeze this one in when I get home, that'd be kinda nice.

The A310s were more widely used on Caribbean routes than transatlantic ones. I remember flying one from MIA to SJU.

I don't much care for A310's (way too ugly looking), but the fact that Delta once flew 'em may make me think otherwise. I have relatives who fly for Delta, so... 8)

I think the Widget actually pulled the look of the A310 together, but yeah I agree, it's far from a beautiful aircraft.

I think that was Delta's coolest livery. After that, they got boring. That includes their newest one, although I think it looks the sharpest out of all the rest.

At any rate, it looks good on the 77L. 8)

Yes the Widget was (and still is) the best Delta livery.

In your own opinion, Casey.

I happen to love the A310's looks. IMO, it's the best looking Airbus.
Shame that the model for the Delta texture is very old and is for FS2k2.
Didn't anyone want to do a repaint for the new model ?

Easily their best livery ever, the rest all put it to shame. The last one "Wavy Gravy" was neat, I loved the tail, the rest was just boring.
Don't even get me started on the butchered widget they call the new livery.

Technically (sp? ), they both fly for SkyWest out of KSLC...but still Delta.

I don't mind their new livery, it looks just as "good" as United's neon blue and Northwest's circle-with-little-arrow. Frontier easily wins.

Technically he's flying for Delta, Captain on the MD88... you'd think that would change my view of Delta or even make me a fan boy, or at the very least fly them once in a while.

Anyway, good to see more exotic airplanes like the A310s coming to SimAirline.net.

The best and most widely used Aircraft made by Airbus was the A320, IMO. That aircraft was/is and always will be the best short to medium range A/C ever, IMO.

Nah... DC9/M80s are hard to beat for their comfortable 2-3 cabin and the very quiet ride as long as you're not in the last 5 rows.
757 is also hard to beat.

I hate the DC-9/MD-80 AND the A320 series. 757s I like. 727s I like.

You would think like me too If you had traveled A320s about a million times in 4 years. I think that they are the best.
