Emirate A380 at Heathrow

I was actually just about to post this but saw Aaron beat me to it:

Personally I am insulted and think that BA should get that spot for free but thats just me.

This is interesting, I'm not sure who has the right though.

I'm dead against this. Bring back the Concorde it replaced! People from all over the globe will see an Emirati aircraft by the entrance to London and the UK's main airport.

Oh now that's disgusting.

Well, those who have money are the ones who make things move. If BA no longer wants to advertise with Concorde, well, then that's their decision. Emirates already has an advertisement mounted on a control tower (I forgot which airport). If they are paying for it, why should the airport deny them that?

Thanks for the link, Brandon. I've added it to the article.

The unfortunate truth is that most everyone agrees that airlines should be fully free commercial entities to do as they please, but the nostalgia in us will always wish for the nationalism, empires of the sky, and historic brands that have been a part of airline history.

Please! Bring back Concorde!

I'm not too sure a scale model of Concorde at Bahrain would have gone down too well when it was flying.

Out of interest, is there a real Concorde still located at Heathrow? When I was there last month I saw what I thought was a real Concorde parked up; it certainly wasn't a scale model.

I saw the model as I was leaving T3 last weekend. There were barrier walls as it was still being set up: http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/1206 ... 106lp7.jpg

When I passed by to leave yesterday, the walls were down, obviously. Very cool site to see I must say.

Alex, you're right. There's a BA Concorde parked up in the back corner of BA maintenance.

Great catch Josh.

I've just realised that the Concorde I saw was indeed a real one (after seeing the pictures of the model in the Viewpoint article), however, I can't remember seeing the Concorde model if it was there last month.
