There's a good many of those events that I can remember vividly. The list is most impressive, if not in absolute chronological order. It's always the crashes that seem to resonate through time. I mention those not found in the list:

TWA 800
Lockerbie, Scotland
Air Florida
ValueJet
UAL DC10 @ Sioux City (and who flies a big craft like that into a small market these days?)
NWA MD80 in Detroit

Now you see Saabs and CRJ at SUX.
ValuJet? It's not on the list? That crash (VJA592) basically blew up ValuJet, and that's why it's now AirTran. That should be on the list. Anyone who knows ValuJet knows 592.

The RJ was supposed to open up new markets. What it's really done is given the airlines the ability to offer more frequency to larger markets, thus putting convenience and marketability ahead of environmental responsibility, and serving to further overwhelm an aging US ATC system that is in dire need of modernization.

Thanks for the flight number update on Critter 592. Yes, Critter is now Citrus, but the ancestry can be traced back to Eastern.
