Was this really that much different in FS9?Jacob Mobley wrote:I mean it's kinda sad when microsoft is the creator of the game, and third parties are making the exact same aircraft that handle better than the ones they make.FJ flyer wrote:As much as I don't like FSX, I think you're being a little bit one-sided. I'm sure there is a fair number of people who do like the games to play with every now and again. In fact sometimes I do want to have a break from Airline simulation and do something different.Jacob Mobley wrote:yeah, i'm not saying i dislike fsx. im just saying that microsoft should have budgeted their time between making the game more appealing to people who like it just to mess around, and people who actually use it for its real purpose.

i just think that when it comes to making a flight simulator, making sure that the aircraft in it handle to real world specs should be on the top of the list.

Yes, not exactly a great idea especially with their fiascos over the 757. I know I will never buy another CS product.
If it had a -200/ER and the -400ER that would make it much more attractive.

To be honest I find them too over complicated for a game, I know some like realism but that much isn't good for you... PS, The CS 767 has been released.

It is if you want your flight simulator to be a REAL flight simulatorbriantwigley wrote:To be honest I find them too over complicated for a game, I know some like realism but that much isn't good for you... PS, The CS 767 has been released.

Well I like to get on and fly not sit for literally 20 minutes clicking and moving the views around with a 20 page manual in your hand (YES they don't include an HTML for the kneeboard so I printed it). I do like realism but I don't want it so real I need to actually be trained to use it..!

Ok....are you referring to their 757 or 767 w/ this statement.....because for either one….I think in an effort to trash CS we are getting a little overzealous here!
Look….all said and done their models are overly detailed! They are fantastic to look at and at a price of 9.99 Euro I think it’s a bargain for their 757. On the other hand if you like to fly as real as possible you do have to devote a lot of time to study the manual and their operational procedures. The bad thing is that most of the time it is so realistic that the plane slips away from you!! You always have to stay ahead of the plane when you fly their 757.….you cannot cut corners. You miss an important procedure and that is going to cost you down the line. Keep in mind that the FS9 version is still stuck at 2.1 which if it was to get updated by CS like the FSX version which is at 4.3 it would be 10 times better.
I bought my 757 at the 9.99euro price last Christmas when they had a sale and the only reason was because I thought it was a bargain. However the first 3 months other than the visuals I was getting frustrated with the fact that I could not get it to fly properly! I asked a friend of mine who is an airline pilot for help and his opinion and although he is a 737 F.O he sat in the cockpit of a few 757’s. His take was that this model worked like the real thing. In fact he brought it in for a landing, and with my TrackIR and Triplehead Matrox setup he said that if he would consider getting certified for the type this was as realistic as the actual airline simulator!!!
It’s too late for me to join the ranks of the airline pilots at 40, but I’m satisfied with my PPL and when I get the urge to bring in a heavy airliner into JFK with the 757 I do get that satisfaction….(now that is…If I stay ahead of the plane)!
