Just registered with Simairline.net after a long time of searching for a Virtual Airline that you don't always have to use Live ATC.Never used Live ATC as have read a lot of things about 'newbes' upsetting long standing and experienced pilots. Hope to 'try' it very soon though. :?

Submitted my first PIREP for ATL-MAN. Tried to download some aircraft from the Delta Virtual fleet section, but couldn't get avsim to open up. Is it still off line due to the Hack? Luckily had the Habitat for Humanity already in my FSX profile.

I know in the handbook it says you should fly the aircraft in the correct scheme, but how can you at the moment if you can't download them. I.E JFK-MAN is a Delta 757-200 Winglets, Can't download or find it anywhere, but I have another airlines version, Can this be used?

PS Looking forward to many hours flying.... :D

Welcome!

Yes Simairline.net is in my opinion the best Virtual Airline group out there! Yes, Avsim is still down due to the hacking and they say it is taking longer than they expected to get it back online.

I don't think you can use another airline even if it is the same aircraft type. Try flightsim.com or projectopensky.com for aircraft until Avsim comes back to life.

Enjoy your flights with us! :)

Thanks for the welcome. Its seems a very well thought out site and offers such a wide range of Airlines and Flights. Suprised I hadn't come across it sooner. :?

I've tried on alot of occasions to download from projectopensky.com, The aircraft appear in my list 7/10 times, but panels are blank and some times they don't seem to 'handle' right if that makes sense. :( I'm on FSX, but on the readme for all the POSKY downloads says for FS2004 only. Do POSKY do FSX only downloads, if so where on thier site are they? I get most of my fleet from simviation.

I'm using FS9 right now so I'm afraid I can't help you with compatible files.

Have you tried flightsim.com? They are usually my back door to files I can't find anywhere else.

Tried the site, thanks for the heads up.

Just downloaded the Delta 757-200W and am currently flying DAL154 JFK-MAN. Had to mess with a few things to get it to work, i.e 737-800 Panel as the defalt 777 wasn't playing. Will mess around more tomorrow to find a better panel for 757/767. Also need to find an 'out of the box/ready to use' Delta CRJ for US internal flights.

Welcome aboard! Glad to have you with us, and we hope you enjoy your time here.

We do request that you use the correct aircraft/airline scheme as often as possible, but there are times when you simply cannot find the correct paint scheme. At times like this, it is permissible to fly another paint scheme, but make sure you are still using the correct aircraft. Thankfully the times when you may find yourself having to do that are becoming very few and far between.

As for getting aircraft to work in FSX, we do have a tutorial for that here. With these steps you can make almost any FS9 aircraft work in FSX. If you need any additional assistance, please feel free to ask.

Spent several hours today building up a 'Delta Fleet' from CRJ200 to 777, :) Then getting them all to work. :? Will have to get a few other airlines airframes too due to 'code share' or 'onward travel' after studying routes on the skyteam time table, but i'll do that as and when required, for the time being, will just be sticking to DAL only flights.
