As the title suggests, it's both the beginning of a new era with the A380 at Qantas, and the end of an era, the Northwest Cargo division and it's 747-200Fs. (I will be doing the charter 747-251Bs as well)

(I still prefer, by FAR, the old classic 747s to the A380, hands down.)

Saw this exact view on a recent real-life VX flight. Crazy how many people stopped in the terminal to watch it push back.

I have to agree with you, the classic 74s are some of the best looking planes out there.

I agree and it's, in general, why I hate night shots. FS just does a TERRIBLE job of simulating darkness and unless the model is PMDG level, the night lighting doesn't help things. It's a shame that the only Qantas A380 flights depart at night out of LAX.

Great shots of the 747.....always good to see a Classy Lady in action.
As for the A-380...still trying to get used to seeing that aircraft around. I tell ya, looks like a pregnant oversize whale.

Great shots, what panel are you using with the Overland model?

If I recall, it's the standard Overland panel as that is the best currently (it sucks) available. I did try merging it with the Feelthere/Wilco A340-600 but that didn't work out unfortunately.
