Nice shot, For that model i turn everything off practically.. Traffic to 40% , all Scenery slider near the bottom.. Just to get that perfect landing with no interuptions :) ..

I think he probably moved the tower view in the map to a different stop. Somewhere around the runway threshold. I've done it many times. You just have to drag the tower icon on the "Map" to the spot you want it to be at.
