Billy Mays dies, age 50

Post by Tom Alder » 29 Jun 2009, 01:52

Billy Mays was found unresponsive by his wife in his Odessa, Florida, home on the morning of June 28, 2009. He was then pronounced dead at 7:45 am, appearing to have died sometime overnight. The Associated Press reported that there were no indications that the house had been broken into, and that police did not suspect foul play. Mays had been aboard US Airways Flight 1241 from Philadelphia to Tampa that blew out its front tires as it landed at Tampa International Airport on June 27, the day before his death. None of the 138 passengers and five crew members were reported to be seriously injured immediately following the incident, but several passengers reported having bumps and bruises from falling objects. Mays told a local Tampa television station that some of the objects "hit me on the head, but I got a hard head." It is unclear whether Mays' death was related to the incident, but his wife did note that he did not feel well when he went to bed the night he died.
Whats that, 4 celebrity deaths in one week? How sad

I'm gonna miss his Oxi-Clean commercials...

I can only remember three: Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, and Billy Mays. Who was the 4th?

EDIT: never mind. Ed McMahon was the 4th.

Ed McMahon

Although he was not as well recognized as MJ or Farrah Fawcett, his passing should not be overlooked.

Crazy! I really liked watching his new Pitchmen show with his British half (can't remember the other guys name). My friend and I were discussing, maybe he had internal head injuries, like internal bleeding in the brain or swelling of the brain. Think it could be a possibility?

I'm almost certain that it was. The fact that he was healthy and coincidentally got a blow to the head the night before almost screams that he had a slow Brain Hemorrhage.

The autopsy reveals that he had cocaine in him before he died. Also had painkillers and anti-depressants.

Me too. I hate seeing the new oxi-clean commercials and the Orange glow because they use someone else. I say they just play the Billy Mays ones to commemorate Billy.
