GC2.0 released

Not sure if this should go here, or in the Aviation forum (since this isn't really an FS addon).

Great Circle Mapper 2.0 went live about an hour and twenty minutes ago. The old site will continue to operate, but the new one has quite a few improvements so go on over and check it out.

Coolness, though with the exception of the airport code/name addition, I don't see anything else too major, then again, I didn't study it in depth.

One thing I think has been an improvement is that you can zoom out of the maps that are displayed now (still wish I could zoom in). It would be nice if we could drag the maps around like you can with Google maps. Perhaps I should suggest that (he's already implemented two corrections I mentioned, hmm...).

He also just announced that the home page is going to have "featured maps" on it, and when I went there today it is showing the first map that was generated on the new site, what countries the users were from who used the site in its first 30 minutes of being up (I'm one of the US users!), and what countries users were from who used the site in its first 24 hours.

Still some room for improvement, but overall it's a little better than the original version of GCM.

The curves look a lot smoother, although I have always found the drawback to GCM the size of the map; it's tiny. I would have thought that making it larger wouldn't have been too hard, so perhaps if we recommend this it might happen. Apart from that, it's still a great website.

Yup, the zooming is the big thing here for me. I used a few GC maps for a quick project on jetBlue last month, and it was annoying not being able to keep them all the same zoom ratio, since I was trying to overlay them and compare for the audience.
