An Ethiopian Airlines 737 crashed into the Mediterranean a few hours ago, shortly after takeoff from Beirut. Not very much known yet, but hopefully that will change in the next few hours.

As of a little over an hour ago, 24 bodies have been found. Still no confirmation of survivors.

Wow, this is really bad news. Hearing eye witness accounts of a 'big fireball' falling into the sea, it would be very hard to hope to find survivors.

It appears that the plane was flying in the wrong direction when it lost radar contact. It is not clear whether it was a pliot error or a problem with the plane. The captain had 20 years experience.
