Winter Weather Closing in on RDU

Post by RatherBFlyin »

Raleigh-Durham (KRDU/RDU) has announced that most early morning departures on the 30th have been cancelled, with flights expected to resume in the late morning/early afternoon. Most inbound flights will probably be delayed/cancelled as well.

Odds are we won't get more than a dusting of snow, but that's enough to bring NC to a screeching halt. To be fair, they are expecting almost an inch of ice in the southeastern portions of NC.

Keep up to date on Twitter

*Edit* Apparently JetBlue has cancelled all flights to/from RDU on the 30th.

I'd also expect some cancellations and delays from most East coast airports this evening due to what should be a pretty bad blizzard. I'll keep an eye out, thanks Tim.

We ended up with about two inches total, with the bottom layer fairly solid after it partially melted and refroze last night. Most of the secondary roads were covered with slush today, which is probably already frozen again. Not going to look good in the morning tomorrow.

The weather people are saying we may get more snow this weekend, but I don't think the temperatures are going to get low enough to have much of an impact.

Not really. We had rain most of yesterday, but the major part of the storm passed north of us (and walloped DC pretty hard).

Holy crap, yes it did. My back is killing me. 2.5+ ft of the heavy, wet kind of snow.

Sunny skies in Seattle. Two feet of snow in the Northeast. "It's the end of the world as we know it..."
