How I spent my Friday afternoon

Post by NWADC9 » 12 Jun 2010, 15:09

1. Plan a cross-country
2. Glue myself to read all those pages from DUAT
3. Go on a scavenger hunt for a pair of Foggles my instructor took home with him
4. Make a fool of myself on the CTAF at another airport
5. Get asked questions
6. Demonstrate my mad flying skills
7. Get a fancy printout
8. Fly back home
9. Get my picture taken for the flight school
10. Update my signature banner :smokin:

And Brandon (Jones), if you remember your WMU 172 fleet, it was N986AV

Damn so you get to fly in new planes! I fly in 1970s junk that always has something broken...

They made FBW planes in '58?! Because I know if cables or pulleys are involved you won't touch it! :rolling:

Yep, our WMU fleet includes:
984 Brown Turd (with an HSI)
986 Brown Turd (with leather seats for the crew)
984WU (had my first lesson and first solo with this bird)
986AV (replaced 995WW; the hangar door slammed on its tail a few winters ago, totaling it)

Still have their Michigan stickers on the tails, and if you look closely at 4WU and 6AV, you can make out the Bronco.
I'm doing my instrument training in UND's old Warrior IIIs, but still fly the Battle Creek Relics on personal flights 8)

Hey Chris,

How do you like WMU's program? I'm coming out to visit this coming year, it seems like a good program.

I don't go to WMU. We just happen to have some of their old Cessna 172Rs that they retired when they switched to Cirruses.
