New Roster System Expected to Open on 10 April

Post by Aaron Robinson » 02 Apr 2006, 18:57

Ali and I have decided to delay opening the new roster system until 10 April in order to be completely sure that everything will work to the highest degree possible. If you have questions about the new roster system or the transition process, please ask them here.

What are some of the features the new PIREP system will have, I know a logbook is one of them.

Statistics will also be enhanced, allowing pilots to see a broader breakdown of what sort of flights are being flown, for instance by aircraft type, airport, etc.

The main advantage of the new system is its processing. Updating the roster now is most efficient on a weekly basis over several hours, whereas the new system will allow for more frequent updates, hopefully on a daily basis.

I should not have set 10 April as the new opening date, and I apologize for this. Mondays are my busiest day, and I was only available for about an hour and a half yesterday. My apologies.

Ali and I hope to have things up shortly.

No problem boss. We are just anxiously awaiting. I am sure you will not be happy with us when we file about 1,000 reports when it is implemented. LOL

It's better to wait a few days more and to have a fully functional pirep system, so, no problem! :D

Apha,

Have patience (as someone already said).

It is far better for Aaron and Ali to take the time to ensure that the system works properly before implementing it.

Or would you prefer the system to be "bugged" causing you to lose your pireps. Just keep a note of your flights and submit them when the system becomes active.

Cheers

That was my only question:
We can fly during this time and file a PIREP at a later date, right?

If things aren't right from the start, then everyone will have to file PIREPs twice, and I'll have to process them twice, and it will be a big mess. Not something we want to happen.

Ali and I are almost done, we just have final steps remaining.
