A Good Traffic Program For FS9
Well guys I cannot get World of AI to work on my computer after several attempts. I have been going through my Computer Pilot magazines and see numerous traffic programs.
Can anyone recommend a good one to purchase for additional traffic.
Thank You

None of 'em. Absolutely none of them are good.
Quality's worse than a five-year-old's fingerpaint drawing, and American will never be correct due to licensing. Instead, you'll get misspellings, "Merican", different colors, etc. Many people buy the garbage, find out they just wasted their money, and end up going the custom route anyway.

I make my own. It's a little time consuming, but I keep adding more flights as time goes on.

That thing's almost five years old. AI has drastically improved. Models and repaints of today are comparable in quality with UI aircraft, if not better.

AI Aardvark and Fruit Stand have some pretty good aircraft.

Not to mention AI Malcontent and AIG, which just released their new CRJ-900 yesterdayAPeX3181 wrote:AI Aardvark and Fruit Stand have some pretty good aircraft.

Custom AI, once you get used to it, is not hard at all! At first I got Traffic 2005 because I was afraid of the custom kind. Finally, I got tired of Delta 727s flying around in 2007 so I decided to take on the task. Took awhile to get the basics but from there its just time consuming! I find myself updating my AI traffic more than actually flying! But it is well worth it!

I usually spend a few hours filling up a new add-on airport after I install it.

Mr Boeing and APeX3181,
I'm glad to see I'm not alone when it comes to AI. I can relate to spending more time on my AI than I do actually flying. I really enjoy seeing a full airport. It adds to the experience.

Haha maybe we should start a club
I have definitely spent more time customising AI than actually flying. I can literally sit here for hours scowering through site after site looking for a flight plan, repaint and model, and installing everything.
Oh and btw, is JustFlight's Traffic X worth it? From what I've seen it looks pretty good, plus isn't it updateable and customisable? Oh and it includes military, GA and helicopter traffic too which is pretty cool. Basically, if you can't be bothered with the hassle of custom AI, would it be a good alternative?

Re: A Good Traffic Program For FS9
I remember uninstalling about 50 WOAI packages, and going back to their site, and re-doing ALL OF THEM, which was about 150 at the time. On top of that, I made custom AI for Corsair, Thai, TAM, El Al, Israir, Arkia, and General Aviation (all of which they did not have at the time, and maybe there are one or two on my list that they still don't have). All in all, I spent about three hours working on my AI, maybe a fraction of what I do on it in a week...

Three hours? BAH! I spend almost my entire day! Whenever I have a chance, I'm either downloading, installing, or even painting and compiling flightplans!

Re: A Good Traffic Program For FS9
Just did a quick look with ACA2005 and this is what I found:
Number of Flightplan files - 579
Number of Airports used in Flightplans - 27,316
Number of different Airports used in Flightplans - 4,152
Number of Flights - 27,440
Number of Legs - 801,456
And I still haven't added all of AIG's flightplans yet!
Chris probably beat me though.

Re: A Good Traffic Program For FS9
I used to have Ultimate Traffic and it was ok but I think it was more time consuming trying to add all the repaints that it is getting a good base with WOAI and then adding to it manually. Adding your own plans was fiddly as well. I don't think any of these programs could possibly be worth paying the money for.

Re: A Good Traffic Program For FS9
Yes, start off with all of the WoAI packages. That'll definitely get you started! When you'll learn your stuff, you'll eventually finding yourself replacing WoAI packages with your own stuff so you have total control over it (I did that with CO, DL, NW, and a few other airlines just to get rid of those FSP models and bring the airline up to recent times).

Re: A Good Traffic Program For FS9
i personally like ulttimat traffic takes a while to get sed to but once you do its pretty good
Re: A Good Traffic Program For FS9
lol I recently downloaded all of WOAI.. I used to have everything of ProjectAI but I don't like how you have to find the packages and such nowadays so I switched over to WOAI as I found it to be easier.. They still miss quite a few airlines but it is indeed something nice to start with... plus I found many of the routes they have are actually up to date..
What I think is funny is that it happens often that I leave the airport and arrive at the destination around the same time as my AI plane that is scheduled on that route lol... a bit weird to hear the same name as my own callsign at that time but oh well ^^
