AI flightplans competeing with mine !!!?!?!!?
I've got a question about AI flightplans interacting with my own flightplans.
I usually like flying Emirates, KLM and BA long haul flights (777's prefered!). I've noticed that when flying according to real-life schedules (as i'm supposed to) I often get a duplicate AI flight as well just like mine. I know all of my WOAI aircraft fly real life flightplans and timetables but its annoying (and un-realistic) flying EK11 into Gatwick and either there is another 'AI' EK11 in front or behind me. I know that if I disable the AI or remove the relevant Airline with WOAI installer would fix it but what the point of having the AI if you can't populate your virtual FS world. i'm using FSX by the way....
What do you guys suggest?

Depart earlier or later than the respective AI flight.

Probably the second worst annoyance with AI traffic behind crap model or textures...
You can take out the flight out of the flightplan and re-install the traffic but that'll be quite time-consuming if you did it every flight.
Othe than that you're going to have to live with it.

Just ignore it... The only good side to it is knowing how accurate your AI really is. Plus it's good fun flying in formation to your destination

I don't know the intricacies of AI Traffic, but one option might be to disable it when at the spoke and enable it at the hub. At the hub, it could be any other arrival.

How about departing 3 minutes late, and arriving 6 minutes early?
This really isn't a problem and is taking nit-picking to the extreme.
You want realistic traffic, but you complain, basically because it's too realistic. Just no pleasing some people
Also, one question mark would have sufficed.

FS9 had a utility you could use to delete specific AI aircraft, and that would be useful in this situation if the aircraft in question is close to you. I forget what it is called, unfortunately. "TTools," or something like that.
I am not aware of a similar utility available for FSX, but since I fly online exclusively it is a moot point.

This is a problem with an "all-or-none" solution. Basically, deal with it.

You can find several FS9 utilities here. Give Traffic Tools a try to see if it helps. If it is the utility I am thinking of, it will let you bring up a map of the area around you which displays the AI traffic in the area. You can select an aircraft on the map and delete it from FS (not permanently, it just unloads it from the computer's memory for your current flight). Very handy if you fly offline with a lot of traffic and the default ATC is vectoring you onto final half a mile behind a slower aircraft, or you are waiting to takeoff and there are twenty aircraft on final for the runway you are using.
So in your case all you would need to do is find which aircraft is your doppelgänger, and delete it.

Traffic Explorer from the FS9 SDK will let you remove an AI flight. I have no idea if there's a corresponding one for FSX.

Yes Traffic Explorer will be able to remove an AI aircraft from the skies, but as soon as the AI refreshes, it will appear where it left off. I have had this problem before when flying across large oceans. I would scream by a slower plane and leave it in the dust, then it would appear again in front of me after the AI refreshed. Nothing you can really do to prevent it.

Ok, try this one then. Look for Traffic Toolbox. One of them is the utility I am thinking of. Unfortunately I do not run FS9 anymore, so I can't test them myself to find out which it is.
That particular website is in danger of shutting down due to lack of funding, so if you want to get anything from there, do it fast.

Thanks for all the input guys...!
But I think a I have an even better solution.....
Install older versions of the the AI flight plans,
eg: Woai's BA schedule v1 instead of v4
Youwould be flying the 'real world' timetable as you should but the AI's are flying on an out-dated timetable, hence little interferance
and all the 'realism' of AI traffic is left intact..

Not really. A few have been forgotten, but WoAI replaces the old ones with new ones completely.DMM200 wrote:Are those even available though?ums1405 wrote:Thanks for all the input guys...!

They are available, you just have to search well on the the woai and avsim sites....
