ANA buys 10 Boeing jets

ANA has bought 5 767-300ERs and 5 777-200ERs. It's quite interesting because both of these lines are not receiving many orders, what with the 767 being replaced by the 787 and the 777-200ER being shadowed by orders for its larger variant, the 777-300ER.

Smart move by ANA and Boeing, getting great airplanes for CHEAP as compensation for delays/problems with their 787s.

ANA has bought 5 767-300ERs and 5 777-200ERs. It's quite interesting because both of these lines are not receiving many orders, what with the 767 being replaced by the 787 and the 777-200ER being shadowed by orders for its larger variant, the 777-300ER.

Many of the 767 orders placed since the 787's launch have been by existing 767 and 787 customers (ANA twice, JAL, LAN, et al.) seeking interim lift to fill in for 787 delays. The 777s could be for domestic or intra-Asia use, where buying a -200LR (ANA has none) may not be worth the added expense.

Also, the 777-200ER and -300ER are not the most appropriate comparison. The closest thing to a larger variant of the 777-200ER is the -300, while the -300ER is the larger variant of the -200LR (confusing, I know).
