Sad why? Odd why? If you're referring to the Boeing aspect, Hawaiian has only flown Boeing for nine years. In contrast, Douglas was in for over 60. In the larger scheme, Boeings at Hawaiian are an oddity.

The only reason I am sad about it is because of my Boeing Bias. I'll be the first to admit that is the only reason why for me.

Actually, I find that the HA livery will go well with the A330. It'll be nice to see how it ends up.

About three or four years after a fleet change, you just get used to seeing a certain type of aircraft in an airline's colors. The first 747s and DC-9s repainted in Delta colors have been around for a little while, but I still do a double-take whenever I see one.

I second that. Just because there's pictures, doesn't mean much to me. In fact, there's a good chance that for a guy like Brandon who works at SEA, he'll see HA 767s in person first and then go look at pictures of the Douglases of yesteryear.

No one ever said it wasn't, but then again, change is never that easy. Once you're used to something, it can be quite difficult trying to change that. Of course, some people have more difficulty trying to adapt than others. It's like when DL introduced its current livery. I found it horrible. Now I think it sorta fits their business model, though I still prefer "ye olde widget".

I agree with you Tim. I felt a tear spring up when I saw a Delta 747 instead of NW at DTW.

I'm with you two, it breaks my heart to see and fly Delta. It will always be Northwest to me.

I am actually excited to see the Hawaiian A330s, I find them a much more beautiful airplane than the 767 and it should look amazing once it gets fully lei-ed.
