FSX-compatible addons

Yes, it took me a while to figure it out as well. There is a folder called "SimObjects," which contains the "Airplanes" folder you need to add the aircraft into. They drop in just like in FS9.

It's official. POSKY's COPA aircrafts were incompatible with my FSX version. I did what everyone told me to do. I downloaded the files, unzipped them and placed them in that folder, yet FSX didn't recognize the aircrafts. I use the deluxe version of FSX...does that have anything to do with that?

Most of the POSKY aircraft do work for FSX, THE 757-200, A340, I've heard more do work with the people i fly with.

Great news, I don't know if you said this already or not but I like to share. The PMDG 747-400/747-400F is coming out for FSX. Saw it on aerosoft.com.

I saw a chart on their site showing what was FSX compatible and what wasn't. I can't remember exactly where it was but when I get home I'll check for it again. I think I remember noticing though that their MD-11 will only be compatible with FSX, and not FS9.

They haven't decided yet. Many people have asked for FS9 on their boards and they say they're not deciding yet.

A good number of FS9 aircraft do seem to work adequately in FSX. However, FSX still has a number of issues and bugs that need to be worked out, so I would advise waiting a while before changing over completely.

Requirements are 600x200 max. Basically, if it's larger than my banner, then it's a no-no. You can ask Nick for one, or I can do one as well.

I would recommend you do not make the change just yet. I have the deluxe version of FSX and only until recently it was acting up and slow. Today, I had to do some testing, and FSX, for no reason, proceeded as normal. However, before that, it was slower than a turtle.

So far, some of the airplanes I've tested are either non-compatible or half-compatible(somethings work, others don't).

Yea Ive heard of this program, but never got into it, now its amazing, got a continental express 145 working. Tells you exactly what's not right and just a fewe clicks and its done, great find.

Here's my list. The criteria:
1. A panel for the aircraft must be available and work in FSX
2. Jetway/GSE door points must be available IF applicable

So, here's my list:

Project Airbus A320 (WARNING: Watch out for the antennas and satellite dish leaving holes in the fuselage. There's a fix on their forum for some paints)

Erick Cantu EMB-120 (The whole kit and caboodle in the fleet page for Delta)

PMDG B1900D

Dreamwings EMB-170

I'll check the SGA DC-9-50 I downloaded a while back that claimed to be an "FSX version", which I know works, but I'm not sure if there were door points.

I don't think I will be using FSX any time soon. I have too much time and money invested in FS9 (my huge amount of AI is another story) and buy the time I will be able to buy a new computer the next FS game will probably be out.

I tried a friends FSX out on my computer and the frame rates were awful
and I don't like watching a slide show. It makes a cross wind landing imposible.

It's actually not that bad. My computer can run FS9 fairly decent, as well as FSX.
