Logging Hours on a New Airline

Would it be acceptable to look up a flight for a soon-to-be SimAirline.net airline via external links, fly the flight before the airline is released, and then log the hours for SimAirline.net later- after the airline is released?

The reason I ask is I'm looking for flights for the Caribbean region and I'm wondering if I can fly some Aero Mexico.

At this point, Aeromexico will probably not fall under the definition of soon.

Aeromexico doesn't serve any Caribbean destinations. Unless you count Cancun, but no islands in the Caribbean.

Varig Virtual fly the 767-200/ER from Sao Paulo Guarulhos and Mexico City to Cancun.
They also fly from Cancun to those cities. RG882 / 883 are the only flights I know of that fly domestically within Mexico ( SimAirline only ).

As for flying for a future Virtual Airline before it opens, I would say no. It is pointless. I think you would only fly the airline for PIREP filing after it has opened.

Well, you can fly a flight on a date not scheduled; it just has to be the correct time and date in FS and on the PIREP. So, I think it would be ok, as long as the schedule doesn't change.

To answer the question, I'm going to go ahead and say no to be on the safe side. If we had met the goals for the VA and it were under construction, it might be a different story.

Why not just leave it as No for them all, with no exceptions.
Surely you can wait until Hong Kong Virtual opens.
That gives you something to look forward to, so don't spoil it.
But, it is up to you.

I understand completely, I'll either find a Pan Am flight to Cancun or some other airline, or if necessary I'll just not log the hours at all!

The reason is not to be mean, but because something unforeseen could occur that would make it difficult for us to be able to log said hours.

Example: the airline retires the aircraft after the flight is flown but before the virtual airline opens.

I did not take your response as mean. I understand your views on not knowing future plans for airlines.

When I said I would find another airline or not log the hours I was just pointing out that it's not a big deal on if it's not allowed.
