First a restaurant, now a hotel. What will a 747 be used for next? A 747-200 at Stockholm Arlanda Airport is being converted to a hotel with 85 beds in 25 suites under the name 'Jumbo Hostel'. The cockpit will become a private suite. The project will open in December and also include a cafe. Guests and visitors will be able to walk out onto the wing as well.In addition to its unusual attraction (if it can even be called that), the company is also marketing Jumbo Hostel as "only a ten minute walk away from the check-in counters at Arlanda. Perfect for anyone catching an early flight and doesn't want to get out of bed before dawn to make it to the airport in time." The 747 in question has a history with many operators, most notably Singapore Airlines and Pan Am.
