With thousands of people flying into Denver for the Democratic National Convention, pizza chain Papa John's has converted six acres in nearby Commerce City into an advertisement for its new pizza, paying a mere $50,000 for the advertisement. Flights approaching Denver International Airport will easily see the advertisement."It's hard to get in on the election coverage," said public relations director Tish Muldoon. "It's a crowded market, and every brand will be chasing their space to promote their product. This was a way to have fun with it. Pizza always brings something to the party."
The entire design is made of cedar mulch, green paper, black mulch, and flattened wheat stalks. It will stay in place until winter approaches.
