Free Flight

Post by Clifford3959 » 14 Jan 2008, 09:04

Hi guys. I would just like to know,if it is possible to bring in a function on the site to log flight hours.that are not flown for any of the airlines. don't know if it is allowed but i think it would be great if we could log hours in other smaller planes that we are flying on other routes and shorter routes like free flight...and also maybe for chopper flights. Just a question and maybe a suggestion.

Greetings

Not sure if that will ever be aloud. You would have to PM Aaron or Ali and ask them but I don't think they would be.

This is what a personal logbook is for. Just make a simple one in Excel.

If we had everyone posting their own flights in the simairline logbook, I'm sure we would have a few nutters who'd put in random planes. This would take away from the realism.

I am almost certain Aaron would not allow this. A personal logbook is a good idea for you.

It's not feasible. For a few reasons, actually.

The most being, how would you know those people have actually flown this flight on their simulators? Some may just misuse it.

Another reason is consistency would be affected.

Let's say three pilots made three different flights with a Cessna 150.

The first would write: C150
The second would write: C-150
And the third would write: Cessna C150

And the list goes on. I'm not sure you'd like to view someone's logbook and find it with so many versions of the same aircraft type.

As many suggested, a personal logbook could be good for that. I, however, don't log such flights. I just fly them, enjoy them and that's it. The choice is yours in the end :)
