London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL)

Post by capewellavc » 01 Jun 2007, 18:06

Hi!

Ok, LHR is my most visited airport on flight sim, mainly because its got links to everywhere, and also because BA have their main hub there (my fav. airline).

Does anyone know of any scenery for LHR? I used to have UK2000's, but it's out of date and blurry now-a-days. Free where payware, preferably tested by you lot.

Cheers; Andy

Nothing. UK2000 is the only option and yes it sucks but it's better than nothing.

Nothing is really available. The best combination that I've found is the default airport with a couple enhancement packages:

Ahh, you beat me, Chris! :)

Yeah It's pretty bad. FlyTampa needs to take over the London market, better yet, FlyTampa should just work out a deal with Microsoft so that they just do all airports with FlyTampa scenery built in, of course this will sadly never happen.

^^ good idea.

I supose all the payware developers are waiting for T5 to be finished at for T1, 2 & 3 to be rebuilt before they develop anything.

Cheers guys!

Heathrow Pro is pretty good, the main problems are the blurry ground textures (taxiways and grass) and hard on the frame rates, depending on your machine.

Aerosoft is supposedly working on FS9 & FSX versions, but they've been delayed so long it's approaching vaporware status.

I use British Airports by Just fly.. Its similar to UK2000 but a more modern and updated version! good stuff.

Heathrow is on the South-East section - although u can buy both the East and South-East section for a cheap price as http://www.play.com i do believe.

In the pipeline at the moment but rumoured for release this september, looks more up to date than the Heathrow Pro version, looks like the recent taxyway changes are being implemented. In German language tho..

Looks pretty nice, not great but better than what we have now. I'll need that when it comes out.

Yup, it is. I wonder if they modeled it to shoot flames and smoke out every once in a while...

Nahh, that's what the GE powered 767s are for.

In all seriousness though, the scenery looks like nothing ever made before for LHR. The static aircraft look hideous, but if we 86 those and put in standard AI, I think that would be a great investment. Just curious about the FPS, wish there was a demo...
