One Question-PMDG 744

Post by Anuj » 23 Jul 2007, 09:11

Ok, So I started a flight from VIDP to EDDF, I started the cockpit Cold and Dark and had to follow the whole Normal Procedures Checklist. This is a screenshot showing that the PFD Display isnt Blue and doesnt have Horizontal Pitch lines showing 10 , 20 etc degrees.

I noticed that your IRU's are aligning, The PFD and ND won't show proper information until the IRU's are aligned and is in NAV mode.

Hope this helps

Glenn

EDIT....
Your in the air already by the looks of things and your IRU's have failed, Is that correct? What was the FMC message which was being shown in the upper EICAS? When the IRU fails in flight it cannot be re-aligned in flight. You have to be on the ground, completely stationary to complete the alignment....

Oh Ok Thanks

Also, if you finish all the route planning of the FMC, and when you get to CRZ Altitude, you set the rwy and the STAR for arrival into your dest. airport. Does VNAV automatically start your descent for approach into the destination airport?

This baby does it all, except taxiing and taking off... 8) Climb, cruise, approach, landing and landing roll can all be done by the smart little thing called FMC.

Yes, VNAV will start the descent as long as the target altitude is dialled into the MCP before the T/D (top of descent) psudo waypoint is reached.
A truly amazing simulation of a truly amazing aeroplane.

Hope this helps

Glenn
