Post by HCooper » 17 Jan 2008, 00:38

I know its sort of copyright but i think ppl should be allow to use the logos and colours of the real airlines as lon as they are not making money out of it, lol for example, : http://thomascookva.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm not sure of what this is about. Are you asking our opinion or making us aware of this or what?

Yeh I'm confused as well. I gotta ask though...are you even a member of SimAirline.net? All your posts seem to be about...other things.

Come on guys don't beat up people at random, it's not that guy. An IP trace shows HCooper is in the US so unless 777er moved it's definitely not him.

I have no idea what this random is trying to do, but it's nothing like 777er.
I only vaguely know about this 777er guy, as I was away when he was active, but he wrote rubbish about being offended by animal slaughter; no ?

Was Boeing744 777er?

And to answer the question for Mr Cooper, the airline has total power over anything that bears its name, and they can close a VA if they think it's creating a negative public image.

Although a very strong case can be made against them. It all depends if the VA can hire a good enough lawyer to ward off the airlines, and in 99.9% of the cases, they can't.

Yeah, as long as they have a 'virtual' in the name, and specify that the VA is not affiliated with the real airline, they are most likely fine.

However, if the VA calls themselves Thomson Airlines and their website is http://www.thomson.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, that is illegal.

I suggest you search the Boards history for all posts by member "777er".

I think the posts are still here, but maybe they were sent to the closed Management section. I don't know.
