Severe Weather Alert System

Post by RatherBFlyin » 19 Feb 2010, 21:38

I just came across a neat little tool using Twitter. SWAS (Severe Weather Alert System) lets you select your home town (US only), or a nearby town, and if you have a Twitter account you can follow the account for that town to get rapid severe weather alerts. The service also appears to provide weather updates every hour from a nearby airport (here is the page for the town closest to me: http://twitter.com/CaryNCAlerts ).

This may not be of interest to everyone, but anyone who is interested in the weather (*cough* pilots *cough*) should find this interesting.
